VIBE Association
From organizational strategy to driving whole sector evolution.
VIBE approached us to help develop a five-year strategy. What followed was a learning journey to explore new patterns of relating in their system and enhance the transformative potential of natural construction.
VIBE is a membership organization that helps positive-impact innovations gain traction in the Flemish building sector. They invited us to support them in developing a five-year strategic plan based on Regenerative Development principles.
The focus of the work quickly shifted from the product (strategic plan) to the process of regenerating the organization’s relational field with its members, while tapping into their aspirations, challenges and potential.
Viewing VIBE and its members as a nested living system within Flanders’ construction sector reframed the inquiry: how must VIBE’s role evolve to grow members’ vitality, viability and capacity for evolution in service of healthy dwelling in Flanders? And what is truly unique to VIBE so it continues true to its founding energy of being a safe space of sharing and learning for its diverse members - designers, builders, traders - to pioneer together?
This reframing of the strategic inquiry allowed VIBE to envision members as having a systemic role in educating and supporting others in the more traditional construction sector to see and understand the benefits of natural materials and processes. By seeing the potential of its members in this way, VIBE also saw an enlarged role for itself as a systemic guide, beyond being a learning provider and network builder for the members.
In this role, VIBE would leverage the collective impact of its members while sensing deeper patterns in the sector, in Flanders and beyond, nurturing the conditions for its members to showcase the transformative potential of their innovations, learn with each other and continuously grow capacity to support the evolution of the construction sector as a whole.
